Craig F. Stroud, 65, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at Golden Living Center Countryside, LaPorte.
He was born Jan. 13, 1949, in LaPorte to Franklin Stroud and Elizabeth (Wilson) Codding.
Craig retired from Maple Tree Properties as a maintenance supervisor. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of First United Methodist Church, LaPorte, and the LaPorte Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and spending time with his grandchildren. Craig will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving are three children, Laura (Nick) Fritzen, Katherine (Eric) Lilly and Sarah Stroud, all of LaPorte; one brother, John (Marsha) Stroud of LaPorte; and six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Noah, Natalie, Avery, Isabella, and Emma.
Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Thayer Codding; stepbrother, Darrell Codding; and stepsister, Judy Stoffer.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Evan Lash officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the service.
