Mrs. Florence Mae Hines, 97, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died peacefully on Nov. 26, 2014.
She was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Chicago to Joseph and Florence (Blakely) DuBois, and moved to Indiana in 1981.
Florence retired from Little Company of Mary Hospital as a registered nurse.
On April 28, 1945, in Chicago, she married Walter M. Hines, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1974.
Florence was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward DuBois; and a sister, Elizabeth Brooks.
Florence is survived by her daughters, LuAnn (Robert) Smith of Rolling Prairie and Cathy (Jeff) Halter of North Liberty, IN; sons, Robert J. (Barbara) Hines of Rolling Prairie, Thomas M. (Marcia) Hines of Harvest, AL, and Walter M. Hines Jr. of Rolling Prairie; grandchildren, Allison (Jeff) Haley, James (Amanda) Schwingendorf, Adam and Lauren Hines, and Mark (fiancé Jessica) and David Halter; a great-grandson, Corbin Schwingendorf; a sister, Kathryn Koenig of Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. CST at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, with recitation of the Rosary at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. CST at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL, at a later date.
