Lena I. Johnson, 66, of LaPorte, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at home.
She was born March 5, 1948, in Jackson, KY.
Lena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a dedicated homemaker, an avid reader and a lover of garage sales. She was a member of The Door Church, LaPorte.
She is survived by her husband and companion of over 40 years, LB Johnson of LaPorte.
Also surviving are her children, Gregory (Deidra) Begley of Valparaiso, IN, and Christopher (Stephanie) Johnson of LaPorte; stepson, Gary (Chris) Johnson of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Justin Kleine, Mollie Land, Mariah Johnson, Kyle Knoll, Sierra Knoll, Faith Begley, Kylie Begley, Noah Johnson, and Keegan Begley; step-grandchildren; and three brothers, Paul Turner, William (Lee) Turner and Conley (Carolyn) Turner.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Turner; one stepson, Daryl Bowling; and one brother, John Turner.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Door Church, LaPorte, on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chris Tomei officiating. Visitation will be at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
