Clik here to view.Mr. Robert L. McLean, 87, of LaPorte, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1927, in LaPorte to Charles A. and Frances (Hatfield) McLean.
Robert owned and operated H&B Equipment of Plymouth, IN (an Allis-Chalmers dealer) and later worked as a salesperson for John Deere of Valparaiso, IN. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater during World War II.
On Oct. 2, 1948, in LaPorte, he married Doris Thornburg McLean, who survives.
He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte (Richard) Ott of LaPorte; brother-in-law, Myron “Whitey” (JoAnna) Thornburg of LaPorte; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Wednesday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A life celebration will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
