Lucille C. Grover, 1921-2020

Lucille C. Grover, 99, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2020.

Lucille was born March 8, 1921 in La Porte County to Michael and Mary (Novak) Kaminski.

On Jan. 15, 1940 in La Porte she married George M. Grover.

Lucille retired from Hooks Drug Store and had also worked at St. Joseph Curiosity Shop.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Rosary Sodality and Our Lady of Fatima.

Survivors include daughters, Nancy Batchelor of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Mary (John) Allen of Fish Lake, Ind.; sons, Ronald (Pennie) Grover of Ray, Mich. and Michael Grover of Galveston, Tex.; 11  grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 21, 1990; her parents; sons, Leonard Grover and T. Edward Grover; sisters, Clara Mack, Josephine Thomas, Marion Turner and Harriett Novak; and brothers, Edward Kaminski, George Kaminski and Ray Kaminski.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Ave., La Porte, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 C St., La Porte, with Rev. Nate Edquist officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
