Arlene M Schoof, 80, of La Porte, Ind. passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at Fountain View Terrace, La Porte.
She was born May 9, 1940 in La Porte to Bernard McCoy and Lois (Barnes) McCoy.
Arlene was a member of Tracy Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamlet, Ind. as well as the Rose Rebecca Lodge of La Porte. She loved spending time with family and friends and doing latch hook. She was an animal lover, especially poodles. She also enjoyed sitting at the window, watching the birds at the bird feeder her son placed for her.
On Oct. 22, 1966, in La Porte, she married Melvin R. Schoof.
Survivors include daughter, Lois (Michael) Swanson of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; son, Marcus (Lisa) Schoof of La Porte; grandchildren, Jordan Schoof, Aaron Schoof, Morgan Schoof, David Swanson, and Olivia Swanson; great-grandchild, Ethan Schoof; twin sister, Darlene McCoy of La Porte; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband on Aug. 12, 2008.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12 at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where a life celebration will follow at noon with Pastor David Albertin officiating. Interment will follow at Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet.
