Marcile Jane Kermin, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 92, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
She was born March 18, 1923, in LaPorte to William and Kathryn (Schweder) Wise.
Marcile retired from LaPorte Plastics as an inspector and had also been employed at the Athletic Shoe Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaPorte and its Rosary Sodality.
On June 16, 1945, in LaPorte, Marcile married Walter F. Kermin, who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Reginald Wise; and granddaughters, Sarah and Ashley Kazmierzak.
She leaves behind a daughter, Sharon Gaul, and a son, Thomas (Shellie) Kermin, both of LaPorte; four grandchildren, Rhonda Kazmierzak, John Gaul, Andrew Kermin and Christopher Kermin; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Kazmierzak and Timothy Gaul; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Thursday, June 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Parish Rosary recitation at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaPorte, where friends and family may gather at 9 a.m. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Joseph Cemetery, LaPorte.
