Michael L. Schultz, 62, of Michigan City, IN, died peacefully at 6:52 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015, in his home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1953, in LaPorte to Vernon and Virgie (Jones) Schultz.
Mike enjoyed traveling and loved watching sports. The Bulls, Bears, White Sox and IU basketball were his favorite teams. He would do anything for his family and was a loving husband and father. Mike was a retired U.S. Postman in Michigan City.
On Mother’s Day, May 14, 1995, in Westville, IN, he married Diana (Winkler) Schultz, who died May 4, 2013.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Marsha (Schultz) Grisham.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher (Jennifer) Schultz of Zionsville, IN, and Trevor Schultz of Michigan City; two stepsons, Christopher (Lauren) Winkler of Valparaiso, IN, and David (Crystal) Winkler of San Antonio, TX; and two nephews, Joshua and Aaron Grisham, all of whom he loved as sons.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. until the service. Private burial will be held at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Michael L. Schultz.
