Clik here to view.Louis Charles Schultz, 83, of Michigan City, IN, died peacefully at 4:50 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Franciscan St. Anthony Health Hospital in Michigan City.
He was born Nov. 26, 1931, in Michigan City to Otto W. and Bessie (Stibbe) Schultz.
Louis was employed at Hays/Milton Roy Corporation. He graduated from Elston High School and received an associate degree in business management from Purdue North Central. Louis enjoyed woodworking, reading and spending time with his family.
On Jan. 19, 1952, at First United Methodist Church in Michigan City, he married Ramona M. Blamey Schultz, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Stephen W. (Kathleen) Schultz of Michigan City and Laura (Mark) Menke of LaPorte; six siblings, Verna Blake of New Carlisle, IN, Glenn Schultz of Haines City, FL, Audrey (Don) Schwermer of Michigan City, Donald (Ines) Schultz of Haines City, FL, and Marjorie (James) Emerich and Dale (Carol) Schultz, both of Michigan City; four grandchildren, Melissa (Jay) Phalora of Valparaiso, IN, Stephen P. Schultz of LaPorte, Lorianne Schultz of Michigan City and Kristen Menke of South Bend, IN; and one great-grandchild, Layton.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, John O. Schultz; and two sisters, Betty Bruhler and Carol Ludington.
In honor of Louis’ request there will be no visitation held. A committal service will take place at 11:15 a.m. Friday, April 17, at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, Michigan City, with Rev. Dr. Ericka Parkinson Kilbourne officiating. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231, or to the donor’s choice.
