Mr. James R. Kaczmarek, 78, of LaPorte, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Miller’s Health and Rehabilitation in LaPorte.
He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Chicago to Felix and Marie (Clemons) Kaczmarek.
James worked as a pressman for more than 25 years at Schwarz Paper Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and watching TV.
On June 28, 1958, in Corinth, MS, he married Shirley (Johnston) Kaczmarek, who preceded him in death on Jan. 6, 2010.
James was also preceded in death by his parents; great-granddaughter, Katie Schoof; brother, Bill; sister, Pat; and son-in-law, Michael Petrie.
He is survived by two daughters, Catherine Petrie of LaPorte and Vickie DeBois of Winamac, IN; son, Russell (Carol) Kaczmarek of Rolling Prairie, IN; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, on Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial of ashes will follow at the cemetery. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
