Anna Marie (Aebli) Erickson, 96, of LaPorte, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Fountainview Terrace, LaPorte.
She was born in Sand Lake, Minnesota, on July 3, 1917, to Kaspar Aebli and Suzanna Koelliker, both born in Switzerland.
Anna Marie worked at Kingsbury Ordnance Plant and at Pine Lake Hospital, Fairview Hospital and LaPorte Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She retired in 1980. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1130 and played in bowling leagues for many years.
Anna Marie was married in May 1951 in Michigan City, IN, to Alfred R. Erickson, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1971.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and William Wolbert; her half-sister, Johanna Koelliker; and her half-brother, Arnold Aebli.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn (Allen) Warren of LaPorte; her son, Gordon (Bonnie) Snyder of Grand Rapids, MI; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 3, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
