Mr. David D. Daube, 78, of Hamlet (Tracy), IN, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1936, in St. Joseph County, IN, to Charles and Alma (Pope) Daube.
David retired as a dispatcher for Conway Central; he also had worked for Plimpton Press and A.P. Parts. He was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, was a 4-H leader for many years, was the sexton of Tracy Cemetery, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On June 1, 1956, in Tracy, he married Joyce Schoff Daube, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Kathryn Kasza of Indian Land, SC, and Connie Pettijohn and her husband Bruce of Spring, TX; five grandchildren, Brandon Kasza, Kelsey Kasza, Clinton Pettijohn, Andrew Pettijohn and Carolyn Pettijohn; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Pettijohn and Emily Pettijohn; and two brothers, Charles T. Daube and James Daube, both of Walkerton, IN.
David was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, David Kasza, and brother, Louis Daube.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 3 to 7 p.m., and at Tracy Immanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. A celebration of his life will be held at the church Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Albertin officiating. Interment will follow at Tracy Lutheran Cemetery, Hamlet.
