Arlene J. Arnold, 77, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte.
She was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Michigan City, IN, to Lester Lovekin and Verna (Hanyzwski) Little.
Arlene worked as a department clerk for Niehoff Mfg. of Chicago for five years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Missionary Church. She enjoyed reading and roller skating, and liked to watch movies and play cards.
On April 24, 1982, in Chicago, she married Phillip Arnold, who preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2006.
Arlene was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lester Lovekin Jr., James Lovekin, Richard Lovekin and Verne Lovekin; and two sisters, Sandy Faries and Cheryl Haff.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Leo) Alvey of Kilgore, TX, Cindy (Gary) Stubits of Saint Louis, MO, and Saundra Bladecki of LaPorte; son, Gene (Sheryl) Vogel of LaPorte; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Lorraine Fredinburg of Michigan City; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, with Rev. Carl Galloway officiating. Burial of ashes will follow. There will be no visitation. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
