Robert “Bob” Eugene Polach, 69, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Jesus at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Golden Living Center – Fountainview Terrace, La Porte.

My sweet, loving husband is now at peace, no more pain, no more COPD and no more cancer. All of Satan’s holds are gone and Robert is visiting with Jesus, waiting for us to meet up with him again. Rest in peace, my love.

He was born May 15, 1952, in Granite City, Ill., to Frank Valentine Polach and Martha Blanche (King) Polach.

Bob enjoyed fishing, movies, Chinese food, walking, sitting in the park and watching and feeding the ducks while enjoying scenic views. He enjoyed collecting teapots, lighthouses, rings, skulls and knives. Robert’s favorite holiday was Halloween. In his spare time, he made jewelry.

He met Pamela Annette Wilson Polach online in March 2017. On May 4, 2019, at Faith Baptist Church, La Porte, he married Pamela. Robert and Pamela enjoyed spending time together and cherished every moment of every day together.

Bob was a member of Faith Baptist Church, La Porte, and was baptized there on Oct. 3, 2021.

Robert is survived by his wife, Pamela of La Porte; four children, Sandra (Jeffrey) Herring of Montgomery City, Mo., Kelly (Brittney) Polach of Granite City, Chris (Jessica) Polach of Granite City and Carol (Randy) Adams of Slocomb, Ala.; three stepsons, Edward M. (Megan) Strauss of Gary, Ind., Joshua A. (Amber) Strauss of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Daniel C. (Erica Bell) Strauss of Michigan City, Ind.; sister, Barbara (John) Edwards of Granite City; brother, Henry (Jessica) Polach of Pana, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Frank J. Polach; sister, Sandra Polach; grandparents, Joseph Frank and Marie Polach; and nephew, Frank J. Polach, Jr.

A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, with Pastor Eddie Heavner officiating. Visitation and viewing will be Friday from 3 p.m. until the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 662, La Porte, Ind. 46352.
