Marc Joseph Christiano, 56, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at Northwest Health – La Porte.
He was born June 27, 1965, in La Porte.
Marc was the founder and co-owner of Village Supply, Inc., for 30 years. He proudly served for 30 years as a member of the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department. He held various positions within the department, culminating with 8 years as fire chief.
In his teens, Marc competed in BMX races, winning several state races. That passion continued into adulthood, where he could be found at any race track, especially NASCAR. Marc enjoyed sponsoring race drivers.
Marc enjoyed traveling to Chicago, where he could be found visiting its local restaurants, particularly Ricobene’s and Portillo’s. He would always stay in the hotel right across from a fire station so that he could see the trucks run their calls.
Anyone who knew Marc knew how much he enjoyed each of his new vehicles!
On Oct. 1, 2005, in La Porte, he married Kimberly Luther, who survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Meghan Pointon of La Porte; stepdaughter, Megan (Eric Brown) Jerndt of St. Joseph, Mich.; aunt and uncle, Sheila and Jerry Fasbender of Indianapolis; mother-in-law, Marlyn Luther of La Porte; brother-in-law, Kevin (Amy) Luther; 3 cousins; 1 niece; 3 nephews; and 1 great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Christiano; grandmother, Jeraldine London; grandfather, Arnold London; and father-in-law, Tom Luther.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, and from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday. At 7:30 p.m. Monday during the visitation time, the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a special memorial service to honor Marc’s service to our community.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department, 305 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, Ind. 46350.
