Melvin Ray Williamson, Jr., 58, of Union Mills, Ind., passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, Ind.
He was born Dec. 17, 1962, in La Porte, Ind., the son of Melvin, Sr., and Wanda (Hall) Williamson.
A lifelong resident of the area, Melvin was an uncompromising man who lived life his way. He worked as a manufacturer of modular homes. Melvin was an excellent cook. Some of his pastimes were “cars, guns, and rock and roll!”
He is survived by his brother, Steven (Shanda) Williamson of Azusa, Calif., and nephews, Glenn, Charlie, Bryan, Chad, Chaylon, Ryan, Joshua, Seth, and Shane.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Michael and Jerry; sister, Connie; and niece, Adrienne.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, on Saturday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1 p.m. Bryan Burden will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Union Mills Cemetery.
