Erik D. Cihak-Walters, 27, of South Bend, IN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in South Bend, IN.
He was born April 23, 1986, in LaPorte to Danielle Luise (Cihak) Walters.
Erik worked in construction. He was artistic and loved drawing and writing poetry. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, skiing and snowmobiling, and loved spending time with his sons.
Surviving are his mother, Danielle Walters of Trail Creek, IN; two sons, Dimitri and Dominic Cihak of South Bend; stepfather, Darryl Walters of Lebanon, OH; one brother, Billy (Jessica) Walters of Minnesota; the love of his life, Amanda Robinson of South Bend; aunt and uncle, Sadie and Doug Sowards of Michigan City, IN; and cousins, Dawn (Ray) Peters and Carol Sowards, both of La Porte.
His grandmother, Luise Cihak, preceded him in death.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Paul Richardson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and following the service until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
