Kerensa “Kerrie” Malinda Brownlee MacLeod, 47, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., passed away following surgery on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

She was born July 9, 1973, to Wayne and Linda (Perry) Brownlee of Mill Creek, Ind.

Kerrie devoted her life to caring for others. While raising her children, she pursued both an associate and a bachelor of science degree in Nursing. After graduation, she worked as a nurse for several years, most recently at Family Medicine Residency Program at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind. More than anything, Kerrie found great joy in her family.  Anyone who knew her knew that her children and grandchildren were the joys of her life.

She was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger, and a loyal and trusted friend to all who knew her. Kerrie’s selflessness, compassion, courage and strength made her a loved and admired family member, friend, neighbor, mentor and co-worker. She is and will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her husband, Scott; sons, Alex (Hannah), Cody (Shelby) and Coleman (Megan Nilson) MacLeod; daughter, Emalee MacLeod; grandchildren, Parker, Samuel and Lilah, and two more grandchildren arriving this spring; her extended loving family of mother-in-law, RoseAnn MacLeod; and brothers-in-law, Jason (Julie) MacLeod and Michael (Amy) MacLeod. She also leaves behind best friend, Sondra Burlingame; close cousins, Aleea Perry and Alyssa (Perry) Lobo; close aunt, Karen Perry-Moryl; her brothers, Leonard Brownlee, Gordon Brownlee, Wayne Brownlee, Jr., and Larry Brownlee; and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Creed and Hazel Brownlee and Estal and Virginia “Alfreda” Perry; father-in-law, Alexander “Sandy” MacLeod; and aunt, Margaret “Peggy” MacLeod.

Due to COVID-19, no services will be held at this time. Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled during summer 2021.
