Thomas “Tom” G. Kemble, 82, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at Aperion Care – The Arbors, Michigan City, Ind.
He was born March 9, 1938, in Elkhart, Ind., to Robert G. and Dorothea (Huss) Kemble.
Tom honorably served his country in the United States Navy, entering in 1956. After his service in the Navy, he spent a lot of time out West until he moved to La Porte in 1990. He had a lot of neighbors who were so good to him that they were also like family. Tom lived life to the fullest and whenever he walked into a room, everyone was happy to see him. He was the life of the party with a good story that always made you laugh. Tom never met a stranger.
He is survived by his son, Mark G. (Carol Fournier) Kemble of New Buffalo, Mich.,; brother-in-law, Ron Minichillo of Elkhart, Ind; brother, Larry Kemble of Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Frank, Laura and Mike Lucchese, Gina Lucchese Duehmig, Matt Minichillo, Lisa Minichillo McGrath, Travis Kemble, Renee Kemble Jones, and Tammy Kemble; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews. All of his nieces and nephews thought of him as the coolest uncle who had 9 lives. Tom thought of all the Lucchese and Dibley cousins as his own nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his adored sister, Kay Lucchese. Kay passed away in September of 2020. Also, his brother-in-law, Frank Lucchese, Jr., in May of 2020 and his sister, Carol Dee Minichillo, in October of 1990.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held this spring, when Tom will be interred with his sister and brother-in-law at St Vincent De Paul Cemetery, Elkhart. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
He loved his dogs, so memorial contributions of any kind may be made to a humane society or animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
