Rose Marie Bauer, 75, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Tecumseh, Mich., the daughter of James and Gwendolyn (Lentz) Short.
A 25-year resident of the area, Rose married Robert L Bauer on Nov. 11, 1995, in La Porte. She worked at House of Fara making wood trim as well as being a homemaker. Rose savored the little things in life, such as gazing out the picture window, enjoying her snacks and talking to her two cockatiels. She loved going to the casino, but most importantly, she loved her family and will be sadly missed.
Rose is survived by her husband, Robert, of La Porte; daughter, Linda Laverne Anderson of Jackson, Mich.; four sons, Scott (Peggy) McRobert of La Porte, Martin Lee (Jessica) McRobert of Portage, Ind., Timothy Ray Graham of Jackson and Terry Graham of Westville, Ind.; two step-sons, Robert Brian (Jennifer) Bauer of Kingsbury, Ind., and Matthew Jason Bauer of Michigan City, Ind.; brother, Sam Short of Tecumseh, Mich.; grandchildren, Christina, Miracle, Hope, Preston, Scotty, Jessie, Brea, Courtney, Kelsie, Cheyann, Crystal, Terry, Jr., Kendra, Hilda, Kayla, and Haley; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janet and Hilda; and brother, Jack.
The family has selected cremation. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Rose’s honor.
