Bruce N. Burgwald, 75, of Michigan City, Ind., joined his parents in heaven at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at Life Care Center of Michigan City.
He was the son of George and Lillian (Brown) Burgwald, born Nov. 13, 1945, in Michigan City.
Bruce found Christ as his Savior while still a teenager and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church, Michigan City, as an adult. He will be truly missed by his pastor and parishioners.
He was an avid reader on many subjects and gained vast knowledge in many subjects, such as the Bible and religion in general, Victorian architecture, world history and old automobiles. Bruce was in this respect a Renaissance man.
He is survived by a twin brother, Beryle, who served over 30 years as his caregiver until Bruce became a resident of Life Care Center, where he became well liked by staff as “Mr. Bruce.”
Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
