Christopher Bangs, 1992-2021

Christopher Michael Bangs, 28, of Rochester, Minn., and formerly of La Porte, Ind., passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Mayo Clinic.

He was born Aug. 16, 1992, to Stuart and Sandra (Curry) Bangs.

Christopher was a member of the Presbyterian Church of La Porte. He was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the La Porte Slicers, Purdue Boilermakers and Chicago Blackhawks. Christopher enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. He enjoyed many family trips, including to Disney World, Seattle, New York City, and a Make-A-Wish trip to L.A. for the 2004 NBA All-Star Game.

Christopher was brave and loyal, and had an inner strength which will be missed by his family and friends.

Surviving him are his parents; sister, Melissa (Matthew) Henderson of Shelbyville, Ind.; grandmother, LaVon Hines of La Porte; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Elsie Curry of La Porte, Herbert Hines of La Porte and Clarence and Lois Bangs of Kankakee, Ill.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Presbyterian Church of La Porte, 307 Kingsbury Ave., La Porte, parking lot.  Those attending the service may listen to the service via their car radio and/or join Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83578886856?pwd=bjhyVGt4UDM1ODhmZlpFdVNHZFNvdz09 , or call 1-312-626-6799, meeting ID: 835 7888 6856, password: 199142. Burial will be private.
