Floyd VanDusen, 68, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Fountainview Terrace – Golden Living Center, La Porte.
He was born Sept. 3, 1952, in La Porte, Ind., to Floyd and LaDonna (Drews) VanDusen.
Floyd was a construction worker for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, searching for arrowheads, and feeding animals and birds. Floyd also enjoyed visiting many coffee shops.
On Sept. 12, 1970, in Rolling Prairie, he married Deloris M. VanDusen, who survives.
Also surviving Floyd are his daughter, Donna VanDusen-Wilcox of South Bend, Ind.; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Samuel Wilcox, both of South Bend; brothers, Bill Dedrich of Kingsbury, Ind., and Terry VanDusen of La Porte; sisters, Margie Arnett of Walkerton, Ind., LaDonna Perry of Union Mills, Ind., and Dolores (Randy) Stout of Union Mills; 2 nephews who were like sons, Larry (Kristen) Moss and Brian Young, both of Union Mills; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family who were near and dear.
He was preceded by his parents; sister, Geraldine Young; nephew, Joshua Moss; and brothers-in-law, Paul Perry and Michael Arnett.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
Due to the recent governor’s order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet. Also, we are limited to 25 people in the building at any given time. We kindly ask for your patience as we oversee these mandated guidelines.
