Marjorie L. Thompson, 92, of La Porte, Ind., passed away peacefully at her farmhouse on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.
She was born Feb. 12, 1928, in La Porte, the beloved daughter of Floyd and Mary (Ellis) Lang.
United in marriage on Sept. 11, 1948, Marjorie was the cherished wife of Calvin G. Thompson, who preceded her in death.
Marjorie graduated from Kingsbury High School in 1945 and was a housewife to a grain and cattle farmer all her life.
Marjorie was a loving mom and grandmother who is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Thompson Darby and Janice Thompson; son, Wayne Thompson; and grandchild, Curtis Darby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lela Krassow and Phyllis Oakes.
As Marjorie said many times, “Throughout your life, Never Give Up!” And, “We have had a wonderful life and times with our family.” And, “You can do it.”
The family has selected private services to be held on Jan. 4, 2021. Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, is handling arrangements.
