Ruby M. Beehler, 78, of Mill Creek, Ind., passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Northwest Health – Porter.

She was born July 11, 1942, in Fall River, Mass., to Frank Laverne Williams and Dorothy A. (Lewis) Gomes.

Ruby was a store owner for many years at Marquette Mall, Michigan City, Ind. She retired from a 40-year career as a face painter and clown. Ruby created and designed various floral arrangements and crafts, which she sold at festivals, craft shows and other venues. She was a talented entrepreneur. Ruby also enjoyed auctions and garage sales. Even after retiring, she continued making her crafts and selling them in local shops. She made time for everyone, be it at church, dinners or other gatherings. Ruby was an extraordinary woman. More than anything, Ruby loved spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger.

On March 10, 2012, she married Jerry, who survives.

Also surviving are her children, Russ (Carla) Burke of Mayfield, Ky., Rick Rusch of Spencer, Okla., Judy Hildebrand of La Porte, Ind., and Joyce (Brian) Becker of La Porte; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Buddy Chadderdon of Rehoboth Beach, Del., Gary (Nancy) Schmidt of Texas and Gail Schmidt of Texas; 3 nieces, Jacki Chadderdon Hurley, Nancy Gorcarck and Linda Chadderdon, all of Florida; and numerous other special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; sister, Eva Klein, sons, Roy Rusch and James Beehler; and nephew, Stephan Chadderdon.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs, Mich. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

Due to the recent governor’s order, anyone attending the visitation is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet. Also, we are limited to 50 people in the building at any given time. We kindly ask for your patience as we oversee these mandated guidelines.

Memorial donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 3991 E. Ind. 4, La Porte, Ind. 46350.
