Gilbert “Gil” David Ware, 70, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Ind.
He was born May 8, 1950, in Rochester, NY, to Leighton and Ruth (Frisbee) Ware.
Gil was a gifted artist and entrepreneur. He and his wife, whom he loved deeply, enjoyed traveling around the country for art shows. In later years, he was his wife’s devoted caregiver. Gil was known for his sharp sense of humor. He was kind, thoughtful, and a friend to many. Gil was dedicated to being a positive force for patience, tolerance, love and understanding.
On Nov. 29, 2001, he married Debbie Craft, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Luncsford; sister, Virginia Kruger; and brother-in-law, Red Knowlton.
Surviving are their children, Aaron Luncsford of Michigan City, Patrick Luncsford of La Porte, Ind., and Liz Luncsford of Virginia; several grandchildren; siblings, Lori Knowlton of Michigan City, Steve (Jan) Kruger of Michigan City and Paul (Frances) Kruger of Miami, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held later in 2021.
