Thelma Cooley, 73, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at Munster Community Hospital, Munster, Ind.
She was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Moonshine, Ill., to Oliver and Ruby (Bennett) Cooley.
Thelma was a seamstress. She previously worked at Kingsley Furniture, Blue Chip and Smolers. Thelma enjoyed word searches and BINGO. She also enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and DIY Channel.
Surviving are her son, Richard (Danielle) Cooley; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Wood, Amber Werner, Courtney Hill, Douglas Kauffman and Cullen Hill; 1 great-grandson, James Smith; siblings, Betty Cooley Inman, Leo Mae Cooley Ritter, Ida Cook Cooley, Patti (Bruce Vermilyer) Cooley, Jeana Cooley Blake, William Cooley, Jerry (Pennie) Cooley, Orvil (Karen) Cooley, Carl (Sharon) Cooley, and Timmy Cooley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Cooley; sister, Rose Cooley Jozwiak; and brother, Gary Cooley.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, Ind. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department.
