Julie Aline Laymon, 62, of La Porte, Ind., passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at her sister’s home in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
She was born May 25, 1958, in Winamac, Ind., the daughter of Norman Rudolph Hedstrom and Fran (Parker) Hedstrom.
In her heart Julie was a true Christian and was a very loving person. Most importantly to Julie was her family. There was nothing she would not do for them and as one would expect from a great-grandma, she loved her great-granddaughter, Athenia, affectionately called Rose. Julie was an excellent cook as well as having a passion for gardening. She loved bird watching as well. She was a lifelong resident of Rolling Prairie.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Albertson of Stillwell, Ind.; two sisters, Susan Hedstrom of Rolling Prairie and Linda (Bob) Shaw of Knox, Ind.; grandchild, Jeffrey (Maria Martinez) Albertson of Walkerton, Ind.; great-grandchild, Athenia (Rose); and previous husband, Richard Laymon.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bryan Matthew Hedstrom; sister, Holly Jenks; and her first husband, William Alberston.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, La Porte, where the family has decided to postpone a memorial service until a later date due to COVID-19.
