Randal “Randy” Delco, 1958-2013

Randal “Randy” J. Delco, 55, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 13, 1958, in Michigan City, IN, to Richard and Rita (Suchminski) Delco.

Randy honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked in excavating as a truck driver and heavy-equipment operator. He enjoyed serving as a volunteer fireman and EMT First Responder with the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department.

On Sept. 21, 1985, he married Darlene (Brinckman) Delco, who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Richard Delco of LaPorte; three children, Angela Roberts of Niles, MI, Joshua Delco of Clarks Hill, IN, and Alta (Miguel) Carrera Flores of LaPorte; two brothers, Robert Delco of Lowell, IN, and Ron (Kim) Delco of Crown Point, IN; two sisters, Rebecca (Michael) Mellon of Chicago and Renee Sexton of LaPorte; two grandchildren, Gabriel Roberts-Musser and Alexander Marx Carrera; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Dorrie Heath.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Rita Delco, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

There will be no services. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
