Flora B. Collins, 86, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Countryside, LaPorte.
She was born June 26, 1927, in Jackson, KY, to David and Nella (Morgan) Adams.
Flora retired in 1990 from Howmet Corporation as a grinder and inspector after over 30 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie.
On June 11, 1947, in Kentucky, she married Earl Collins, who preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2006.
Flora was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Calvin Adams and sister Mary McIntosh.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Michelle) Collins of McKinney, TX, and Dennis (Joyce) Collins of Rolling Prairie; two sisters, Kathleen Back of Wentzville, MO, and Hazel Turner of Jackson, KY; two brothers, Maynard Adams of Mt. Sterling, KY, and Eugene Adams of Jackson, KY; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Thursday, Jan. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 3, from 1 to 2 p.m. A life celebration will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ransom Ebersole officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
