David Lee Williams, 65, of La Porte, IN, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at his home.
He was born in La Porte on Jan. 15, 1954, to John Franklin and Yvonne Marie (Allen) Williams.
David was an injection molder for many years. He worked at Filter Specialist, Chicago Faucets and Indiana State Highway Department. David enjoyed bowling and watching football and baseball, especially the Bears and Cubs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1975 and was stationed in Korea from 1973-1974.
On Feb. 22, 2010, in Reno, NV, he married Kathy Cummins, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Dave (Sarah) Williams of Portage, IN, Danah Johnson of Portage, Ken (Sarah) Williams of Fayetteville, NC, Brandon (Michelle) Williams of La Porte, Matt Williams of Michigan City, IN, Brandy Cummins of La Porte, Khristina Cummins of La Porte, Angie Ash of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Tammy Cummins of La Porte; 15 grandchildren, Ashley (Matt), Serena, Angel, Anthonie, Kylee, Kayden, Chloe, Miley, Travis, Lexie, Kyle, Jordan, Ben, Phalyn (Kenneth), and Ian; 2 great-grandchildren, Sutton and Hadley; siblings, John “Uncle Rob” (Pam) Williams of Kingsford Heights, IN, Thomas Williams of La Porte, Steven (Carla) Williams of Union City, MI and Sharon Williams of La Porte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Cremation has taken place; interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the service on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home. At 6 p.m., a potluck style dinner will be held at Casey’s Lanes, 610 Colfax Ave., La Porte. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Please bring a dish to share.
