Dorothy V. Levandoski, 93, of LaPorte, IN, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018.
Dorothy was born June 26, 1925, in Gary, IN, to Herman and Hedwig “Hattie” (Steinberg) Bode.
On Aug. 28, 1948, Dorothy married Edward Levandoski, who preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2001.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Circle Eight, Ladies Auxiliary, Altar Guild, Willing Servants, and the St. John Thrift Shop. She also volunteered at LaPorte Hospital for over 30 years and was an Inspector at the voting polls during many elections.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, Thomas (Kathleen) Levandoski, William Levandoski and Robert (Cheryl) Levandoski, and a grandchild, Payton Holub.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Alma “Dolly” Rowe; and three brothers, Theodore Bode, Herman Bode and Walter Bode.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, LaPorte, where visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the service. Pastor Ron Brauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 111 Kingsbury Ave., LaPorte, IN 46350; or Social and Learning Institute, 201 East Garfield St., Michigan City, IN 46360. Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
