Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, is handling the arrangements for Cynthia R. Winner, 82, of LaPorte, Indiana, who passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, at 3:33 p.m. at LaPorte Hospital.
She was born November 1, 1935, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Joe and Maggie (Howard) Patton.
Cynthia had worked as a waitress at Walgreen’s Restaurant. She enjoyed her plants, feeding the birds and watching the Chicago Cubs.
On October 19, 1975, in Michigan City, IN, she married John Winner, who preceded her in death on June 19, 2010.
Surviving are a daughter, Renee (Lloyd) Madaus of LaPorte; two sons, Christopher Schultz and Michael Schultz, both of LaPorte; grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) Madaus of Maui, HI, and Amber (John) McBride of Simpsonville, SC; six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Fallon, Maximus, Macie, Myer and Merrick; and her brother, Ray Patton of Wheatfield, IN.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Bell Colquist and Beulah Howard; and brother, Dale Patton.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
