He was born Nov. 10, 1954, in LaPorte to Stanley and Pauline (Mrozinski) Kukla.
John was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church; past president and member of the Indiana Health Care Association; and current member of the LaPorte Yacht Club. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Purdue. John was in long-term healthcare for 40 years. During his career, he inspired residents, colleagues and healthcare professionals. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
On May 25, 1974, in LaPorte, he married the love of his life, Mary Kay (Marks) Kukla, who survives. They made so many wonderful memories; glass blowing and cooking classes, boating and several other great adventures.

His parents preceded him in death.
