Terrance “Terry” Arthur Rauschenbach, of Weatherford, Texas, originally from LaPorte, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017.

He was born Oct. 10, 1959, to LeRoy and Norma (Bannwart) Rauschenbach.

Terry was a 1977 graduate of Rogers High School in Michigan City, IN. Throughout his career he lived in and traveled to many locations around the world. Terry had an amazing sense of humor and loved debating politics with family and friends. Those who knew him could count on Terry to bring laughter to any conversation. Terry also had a passion for raising livestock. Although he has raised a variety of animals, he particularly enjoyed raising cattle. His love for animals started when he was a child on his grandparents’ farm and continued throughout his life. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and “Pepaw” to his grandchildren, Oliver and Dakota.

Terry married Tay, the love of his life, on June 11, 2005. They enjoyed spending every moment together experiencing life on their farm, visiting with family and spending time with all of their many friends. He loved his family deeply and provided them with his wisdom and constant support.

Terry is survived by his wife, Tay Rauschenbach; children, Marie (Francisco) Rauschenbach, SSgt. Zachery (Amanda) Hopper USAF, and Rachel Melnychenko; two grandchildren, Oliver and Dakota; his father, Leroy Rauschenbach; siblings, Mark (Carol) Rauschenbach, Timothy (Janet) Rauschenbach and Deborah (Raymond) Rheinholtz Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma (Bannwart) Rauschenbach.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at noon at Springville Community Church, 5244 Ind. 39, LaPorte. Please join Terry’s family for a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with a luncheon to immediately follow. Pastor Luke Bedtelyon will officiate the ceremony.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Terry Rauschenbach.

Messages of condolence may be posted below on WNLP.
