Marjorie L. Blank, of LaPorte, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at LaPorte Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1930, in Wabash, IN, to Thurman and Susan (Mossman) Routt.
Marjorie’s family moved to LaPorte in 1942. She graduated from LaPorte High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of NARFE (National Association Retired Federal Employees), American Legion Auxiliary Post 83, Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary Post 1130, AARP, and HealthPorte of LaPorte Hospital. She was a past member of LaPorte Women’s Bowling Association.
On April 21, 1950, she married Robert R. Blank of LaPorte, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2005.
Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Biggs; and three brothers, Allen Routt, Frederick Routt and John Routt.
She is survived by her three children, Randall R. Blank of LaPorte, Nancy (Les) Levenhagen of LaPorte and Cynthia Blank of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren, Sarah Belle of Frederick, MD, Tara (Mike) Riley of Indianapolis, Mark Levenhagen of LaPorte and Rhett (Julia) Umphress of Avon, CT; great-grandaughter, Emersyn Riley of Indianapolis; sister, Carolyn Shaw of LaPorte; and several nephews and nieces.
A private family service will take place at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, with Rev. Noel Olse officiating.
