Brenda S. Eaton Sizer, 65, of LaPorte and formerly of Rolling Prairie, IN, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, in her home.
She was born April 9, 1951, in Valparaiso, IN, to Glen Eaton I and Elsie (McLaughlin) Eaton.
Brenda formerly worked as an intake personnel member at LaPorte County Work Release. She loved to travel, cook, spend time with family for the holidays, collect old-world ornaments, and play Rummy card games. Brenda put others before herself; she quit her job to help her daughter open a new restaurant. She loved her two dogs, Emily and Pugsley.
On Nov. 21, 2004, in Wanatah, IN, she married Floyd Sizer, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; Glen Eaton I and Elsie McMahon; three brothers, Phillip Eaton, Glen Eaton II and Jerry Williamson; and two grandsons, Kyle Flotow and Neal Owen.
Surviving are her lifelong companion, Daniel Flitter of LaPorte; daughters, Robertta (Mark) Flotow and Rebecca (Matt Klosinski) Lindsey, both of LaPorte; stepdaughter, Lea (Tom) Pike of Illinois; stepsons, Kirk (Renisa) Sizer of Oklahoma and Kevin (Marcela) Flitter of Tracy, CA; sister, Sharon (Michael) Metts of Wanatah; brothers, Marvin (Melanie) Eaton of California and Wayne (Betty) Willey of Nashville, IN; stepsister, Donna McMahon of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Maddyx Watts; 25 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. Visitation will be Friday from 3 p.m. until the service.
