Mr. Barry L. Moyer, 62, of LaPorte, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1953, in LaPorte to Robert A. Moyer Sr. and Muriel L. (Erickson) Moyer-Berryman.
Barry was a veteran representative at Work One for the Indiana State Employment Dept. He was director of World Registry of Black Belt Martial Arts Organization and Federation. Barry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a man of great integrity and discipline. Barry loved his family and his dog.
On Feb. 16, 1974, in Portage, IN, he married Lynette (Callahan) Moyer, who survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Muriel L. Berryman of LaPorte; two daughters, Julie (Lonnie) McFadden of LaPorte and Chrissy (John) Santo of Pahrump, NV; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alyssa and Jon McFadden, and Paul Santo; three sisters, Vickie (Larry) Deutscher, Pam (Walt) Armstrong and Judy Steigely, all of LaPorte; and three brothers, Robert A. Moyer Jr. and Jeff (Laura) Moyer, both of LaPorte, and Dale (Carol) Moyer of Waco, TX.
Barry was preceded in death by his father.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Thursday, July 9, from 3 to 6 p.m. A life celebration will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. A military service will be conducted by the LaPorte Honor Guard at the funeral home.
