Carol Ann Thompson, 64, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at Southern Hills Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.
She was born Feb. 4, 1951, in LaPorte to Henry and Juanita (Houston) Hallberg.
Carol was a loving mother, friend and caregiver to all. She was an avid reader and writer, and enjoyed collecting unicorns. Carol was a nurse who gave all she could to her patients.
On Sept. 21, 1990, she married John Thompson, who survives.
She is also survived by her son, Thomas S. (Jo) Anderson of Fort Wayne, IN; two daughters, Victoria (Nick) Peracki of Wheeler, IN, and Jessica Thompson of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Toni, Damian and Dakota; two brothers, Charlie (Nancy) Hallberg of Milwaukee, WI, and Tom (Laurie) Hallberg of Syracuse, IN; and two sisters, Cindy Hallberg of Indianapolis and Beth Knief of Valparaiso, IN.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Sunday, June 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. A life celebration will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Banning officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
