Frank Frederick Heiden, 81, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Miller’s Health and Rehabilitation in LaPorte.
He was born Jan. 31, 1934, in LaPorte to Hjelmer and Clara (Marvel) Heiden.
Frank graduated from LaPorte High School in 1952. He honorably served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in September of 1962. Frank worked in the bookbinding and publishing industry throughout the Midwest until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in LaPorte. Frank enjoyed the 4-H fair, farming and fishing, especially while in Canada.
Surviving are his three daughters, Nicole (Keith) Gingerich of Goshen, IN, and Jodi (Troy) Zygmuntowski and Kelli (Lawrence) Pumroy, both of LaPorte; one sister, Marian Blad of South Bend, IN; one brother, Fred (Carol) Heiden of LaPorte; six grandchildren, Aimee and Ashley Gingerich, Michael and Sarah Zygmuntowski, and Joseph and Georgia Pumroy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother-in-law, Donald Blad.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave., LaPorte, IN 46350.
