She also enjoyed her travels to Arizona, Mount Rushmore, Disney World, West Yellowstone Park, Branson, MO, North Carolina, and the Smoky Mountains.

On Jan. 30, 1943, in Monticello, IL, she married George E. Colvin, who preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1981.

Also preceding her in death were one sister, Josie Fought; one brother, Dean Winder; two sons, Gary Colvin and Dennis Colvin Sr.; and three grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Godfrey and Chad Cuma.

Surviving are five children, Douglas Winder of Lexington, KY, Larry (Judy) Colvin of Rolling Prairie, IN, Linda (Steve) Fox of LaPorte, Denise (Zad) Highsmith of Lexington, KY, and Dale Colvin of LaPorte; two brothers, Lester Winder of Monticello, IL, and Warren (Jeannette) Winder of Buckley, IL; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; close friends, Audra and John Saylor of Michigan City and Mary Jane Zacharias, all of Michigan City, IN; daughter-in-law, Kathy Colvin of Michigan City; and friend, Diana Combs of Michigan City.

A special thank you to the hospice staff, who provided Phyllis with loving care in the last months of her life.
