Mrs. Lynn K. Michaels, 61, of LaPorte, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She was born Aug. 2, 1953, in LaPorte to Gerald and Florence (Johnson) Schoof.
Lynn worked as a nurse for The Arbors in Michigan City, IN, and was a nurse for 30 years, serving many families. She was a member of American Legion Post 83 and Falcons. She loved to play darts, and loved animals. Lynn especially loved her family and grandchildren.
On Sept. 22, 2014, in Michigan City, she married Michael Michaels, who survives.
She is also survived by her son, Dan (Loretta) Sekula of Union Mills, IN; daughter, Rebecca Wolfenbarger of LaPorte; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Margaret) Schoof of LaPorte; and sister, Dottie (Philip) Hula of LaPorte.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon. A life celebration will be held Thursday at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
