Steven E. Hicks, 58, of LaPorte, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Franciscan Hospice Communities in Michigan City, IN.
He was born March 11, 1956, in Michigan City to Joe Earl and Martha (Nelson) Hicks.
Steven worked as a heavy equipment operator for several different companies throughout his life. He enjoyed woodworking and drag racing with his friend, Joey Gauger.
Surviving are his beloved children: sons, Christopher (Lisa) Hicks of LaPorte and Shannon (Audrey) Hicks of Cape Coral, FL, and daughter, Stacey (Bruce) Mosley of LaPorte; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte. A cremation committal has taken place.
