Theodore “Ted” Stupar, 88, of LaPorte, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.
He was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Ukraine to Jan and Anastazja Stupar.
Ted retired from Kingsley Furniture and was previously employed with Indiana Molding, both in LaPorte. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and loved to travel and spend time with his entire family.
In 1947, Ted married Sophie Zajac, who preceded him in death. In 1997 he married Lorraine, who survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Nancy (James) Jonas and Carol (Mark) Rauschenbach, both of LaPorte; grandchildren, Joseph (Kulie) Jonas, Alex (Krysti) Jonas, Bradley Rauschenbach and Olivia Rauschenbach; great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Madisyn and Evan Jonas; and a sister, Maria. Ted was also blessed with his stepchildren, who include Linda (Chuck) Minnick, Lois (Steve) Brooks, Ron (Cathy) Alban, Laura (Lawrence) Mazur, Roger Alban, and Russell (Nancy) Alban, and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his first wife, Ted was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane Stupar; and brother, John Stupar.
Visitation will be held at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Friday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Parish Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaPorte. Friends may gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday prior to the Mass. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, LaPorte.
