Kathryn I. Hoeppner, 85, of LaPorte, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Wanatah, IN, to Edward A. and Anna M. (Stolte) Keehn.
Kathryn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making baby blankets for all her grandchildren and friends.
On Nov. 22, 1947, in LaPorte, she married James H. Hoeppner, who preceded her in death June 12, 2008.
Kathryn was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald L. Keehn, Edward Keehn and Kenneth Keehn; and a sister, Evelyn Keehn.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Hoeppner of Wanatah and Nancy (Douglas) Ricks of Walkerton, IN; son, James (Bonnie) Hoeppner of Walkerton; five grandchildren, Dawn, Rebecca, Jeremy, Lesa and Christopher; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kara, Hannah, Landon, Nolan, Brynley, Brock, Morgan, Cole, Brook, and Logan.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Monday, Feb. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. A life celebration will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, LaPorte.
