Rose Luginbill, 1923-2015

Luginbill photoRose Irene Luginbill, 92, of LaPorte, died Jan. 22, 2015, after a short illness.

She was born Jan. 6, 1923, in LaPorte to Rose (Daley) and Oscar Boone.

Rose was a school bus aide for the LaPorte School District, from which she retired. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the church’s St. Joan of Arc Circle.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Harry) Weliver, Michael (Kay) Czanderna, Sylvia (Jerry) Henry and Rita Waldrop, all of LaPorte, Patrick Czanderna of Greenville, MI, Lisa (Larry) Johns of Hamlet, IN, and Joseph Jr. (Kathryn) Czanderna of Overland Park, KS; daughter-in-law, Brenda Czanderna of Milton, FL; grandchildren, Laura (Anthony) Wood, Greg Weliver and Melissa Garwood, Kristine (Bartt) Smith, Angela (Patrick) Creighton, Rebecca (Andrew) Strati, Lynn (Richard) Schmidt, Catherine (Jay) Washington, Jeffrey (Tara) Henry, Steven (Melissa) Henry, Nicole Czanderna, Travis Czanderna, Kristin (Justin) Slating, Alec Czanderna, Kaitlin Czanderna, Anthony Jones, Adam Jones, Abbeigh Johns, and Alissa Johns; great-grandchildren, Alexander Wood, Elijah Wood, Jenalee Weliver, Matthew Weliver, Rhiley McIntire, Conner Smith, Macy Smith, Charles Creighton, Elizabeth Strati, Autumn (Kevin) Mazur, Peyton (Peterson) Cornett, Emma Schmidt, Braden Schmidt, Joshua (Emily) Kayser, Zachariah Kayser, Christian Schmidt, Caryn Schmidt, Austin Washington, Jermaine Washington, Bella Henry, Poppy Henry, Juniper Henry, Weston Henry, Cayenne Henry, and Coleman Slating; and great-great-grandchildren, Lilah Wolfe, Gracelyn Wolfe, Ava Mazur, Micah Mazur, Elena Mazur, Peterson Cornett, Isabelle Kayser, and Felicity Kayser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joseph J. Czanderna Sr. and Ronald H. Luginbill; son, Jeffrey David Czanderna; and son-in-law, Richard Waldrop.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at St. Peter Catholic Church, LaPorte. Family and friends may gather at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Monday, Jan. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service. A Parish Rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the Mass in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1104 Monroe St., LaPorte, IN 46350.
