Richard E. Reed, 60, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in his home.
He was born April 17, 1954, in Logansport, IN, to Gordan and Sally (Holcomb) Reed.
Richard was a former member of the Masons and Legion Riders with American Legion Post 434 in Kingsford Heights, IN. He loved riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, animals and caring for his lawn.
Surviving are his lifelong companion, Judy Anderson of Rolling Prairie; three children, Richard E. Reed II and Robert G. Reed, both of LaPorte, and Daniel Knoll of Wisconsin; five brothers, Gordan Reed of Winamac, IN, Tom (Linda) Reed of Indianapolis, Mike (Chris) Reed of Illinois, Ron Reed of Star City, IN, and Gary (Theresa) Reed of Winamac; three sisters, Sharon Wessinger of Florida and Connie (Brannon) Odle and Regina (Brett) Dilts both of Winamac; and three grandchildren, Kaytlyn, Molly and Alexandra.
Preceding him in death were his father; one sister, Peg Reeves; and one niece, Michelle Reed.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
