Mrs. Bernice Richie, 71, of LaPorte, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte.
She was born July 31, 1943, in LaPorte to Richard and Louise (Schoof) Lancaster.
Bernice worked as a paper carrier for the LaPorte Herald-Argus.
On March 3, 1963, in Knox, IN, she married Ordway Richie, who survives.
She is also survived by her brother, Marshal Lancaster of LaPorte.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Margaret Hunt officiating. Cremation will take place.
