Ellen A. Kermin, 88, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
She was born April 7, 1926, in Escanaba, MI, to Ross and Hilda (Wanstrath) Gosnell; she lived in the LaPorte area for 68 years.
Ellen was a bookkeeper for Lenick’s Dairy in LaPorte for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality and St. Cecelia Circle.
On Sept. 26, 1946, in Michigan City, IN, she married William Kermin, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by four daughters, Kathleen (Steve Wood) Arthur, Patricia Kermin, Sandra (Kent) Reglein and Connie (Tim) Ledgerwood; five grandchildren, David, Arron, Peter, Patricia and Carrie; two brothers, George and David Gosnell; and two sisters, Elizabeth Ahlers and Marylee Potts.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. David Gosnell and Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, LaPorte. Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
