Alice Jeanne Morrison Mueller was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Massillon, OH, to the late Clem and Lucy Morrison. Her brothers Bob (Dekalb, IL), Dick (Dayton, OH), and Don (Monroe, MI) survive.
She graduated from Washington High School (Massillon Tigers) and The Ohio State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Nursing.
Alice is survived by her husband Edwin Mueller, M.D, of LaPorte, and three children, Laurel (Sedona, AZ), Thomas (Sedona, AZ) and Steven (Tampa, FL). She was preceded in death by David, her eldest son.
Always vivacious and socially engaged, Alice was an active volunteer in the community, serving in the Meals on Wheels program and as a nurse for the American Red Cross, taking blood pressure at Al’s Grocery and participating in monthly blood bank drives. She was a member of the Republican Party and clubs, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the United Methodist Church.
Her last act of volunteerism is the gift of herself to the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and watching “Jeopardy” and the Fox News Channel.
A celebration of life will take place Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave., LaPorte.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Republican candidate, the United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, or the American Red Cross.
